Mobile Internet Quality in Europe? How Mobile Operators perform in your country? Quality Benchmark – Q3, 2016
Welcome after holidays 😉 We prepared summary of Internet Speed Test conducted by users of Mobile Application – RFBENCHMARK in Europe in third quarter of 2016. Obtained results looks very interesting. In most cases average Internet Quality improved comparing to previous results, however there is still place for data volume and quality growth!
Below map presents results of Mobile Internet Quality per country including three most important mobile link parameters: Downlink Throughput, Uplink Throughput and Ping (Detailed Methodology Description can be found here!).
Displayed results presents averaged Key Performance Indicators for all mobile technologies 2G – GSM, 3G – WCDMA and LTE (4G). Such approach allows us to observe real quality of Mobile Internet Access per country base.
Germany is taking strong lead in terms of Mobile Internet Quality. Weakest link is still Ukraine, but we can observe improvement comparing to previous results, mostly due to massive rollout of 3G in last months.
Next country we observe significant change in terms of increase of downlink (DL) & Uplink (UL) throughputs and decrease Round Trip Times (RTT) is Turkey, mostly due to LTE-Advanced (4.5G) technology introduction in April 2016 and significant increase of number of sites supporting this technology for both all Turkish operators – Turkcell, Vodafone & Turk Telekom.
We expect similar trend and further improvements of mobile Internet speed and quality in 4th Quarter of 2016 mostly due to continued rollouts of LTE Advanced and increased penetration of latest mobile terminals supporting this technology.
